French Arts/Holiday/Retreat Cottage

Available in summer 2021 dates TBC , Changeover days are Saturdays.

 

• 2 bedrooms sleeps 4 comfortably. Twin and double.

• 2 beautiful new luxury washrooms and an upstairs slipper bath and whb in the attic

• Fully equipped 18th Century cottage - access to laundry room with washing machine iron/board in the barn. Cottage is equipped with fridge/ hob and oven/electric kettle/toaster/hoover. 

• South Facing front terrace for al fresco dining/ high quality outdoor tables and chairs, rear sunroof terrace with long views to St Laurent les Tours- looks over our new Hot Tub and deck - the deck area is perfect for yoga and a group made use of this each day during their stay in summer 2019.

• Outdoor summertime living, stunning 360degree views, wildlife (deer, foxes, kites, buzzards, jays etc) peace, tranquility and Lac Du Tolerme is only 6km away for open water and life guarded swimming, walks, beach activities and a children's swimming pool with flume.

• No TV, bring your own music gadgets.  

• Best Suited to - Artists, writers musicians, hikers, cyclists, yogis and those wishing

       to escape the rat race and enjoy silence and nature in a renovated and

       charming environment in the Garden Of Segala, SW France​

• We prefer that rentals are for 2 week periods.

• We ask a contribution towards our annual upkeep costs -  £315 per week outside of last two weeks of July and first two weeks of August (use of hot tub 30 euros extra per party pw), (preparation of and provision of bedlinen and towels is 25 euros pp extra pw - if you are driving you can bring your own). This special sum is for friends and friends of friends only and is not reflective of a commercial rental amount in our area.

• You come as our house guests (at your own risk), our accommodation is in the barn across the way from the cottage so your accommodation is exclusively yours. 

• Highest season rate for 2021 during last 2 wks of July/ first 2 wks of August is £550 per week (fortnightly rental preferred).

“This is the most rustic, charming cottage in rural France I’ve ever stayed in, along with 3 friends. Everything was in place, authentic, immaculate and very clean with modern facilities. ‘A piece of Heaven’. The longer I stayed, the more I wanted to return for future holidays. The decking outside to the back is excellent for early morning yoga practice. The seating area upstairs on the roof terrace is in a perfect position to catch the sunrise and sunset with magnificent views looking over the undulating hills. The local boulangerie, is a short 5 minute car ride into the village of Terrou. A little further and you can visit quaint villages, with eg a pottery and chateau hosting art exhibits. "We stayed at the cottage to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday and can honestly say we had a fantastic holiday. Jane and Alan are wonderful hosts, the cottage is very homely and comfortable and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. There are many beautiful villages and towns to visit by car, and of course, great restaurants too. We visited some of these but also spent quite a lot of our time around the cottage, reading, painting and just chilling and absorbing the atmosphere of the place.
